Global Economy

GDP, inflation, jobs, debt and IMF forecasts for every country, from the World Bank, IMF and OECD.

Ask Claude about the economy of any country and get official figures with their source, unit and update date. The World Bank covers about 1,500 annual indicators for 217 economies; the IMF World Economic Outlook adds estimates and five-year projections for growth, inflation, unemployment and public debt; the OECD adds the most current monthly and quarterly data for its members and partners: inflation (headline, core, food, energy), unemployment, quarterly GDP growth, 10-year bond yields, short-term rates and house prices. Compare one indicator across up to 60 countries, pull several indicators for one country over time, or query any OECD or IMF dataflow directly. Country names, ISO codes and groups such as Euro area, EU, G7 or World all work.

Requirements

FAQ

Which source does it use?

Each curated indicator has a default: the World Bank for annual data with the widest country coverage, the OECD for monthly inflation detail, interest rates and house prices, and the IMF World Economic Outlook for public finances and forecasts. You can ask for another source, and every answer names the source, the series code, the unit and the last update date.

How current is the data?

OECD monthly series are usually one to three months behind; the World Bank's annual indicators lag six to eighteen months and some countries publish later than others (each country shows its own latest year); the IMF World Economic Outlook is updated in April and October. The OECD API publishes no last-update date, so the latest period is shown instead.

Are IMF forecasts official?

They are IMF staff projections from the World Economic Outlook, about five years ahead. The connector marks projected years and states the vintage, for example October 2026.

What happened to IMF International Financial Statistics (IFS)?

The IMF retired the IFS database and its old dataservices.imf.org API. Its contents now live in topical datasets (consumer prices, exchange rates, interest rates, national accounts) on the new IMF data portal, which this connector reaches through its SDMX 3.0 API.

Is anything stored?

No. Every call goes to the source APIs, nothing is cached, logged or saved.
