Argentina Public Data

Official Argentine statistics, the national open data portal and public procurement records in Claude, in Spanish or English.

Brings three official Argentine sources into one connector. Statistics: the Series de Tiempo API with about 30,000 series from INDEC, the BCRA central bank and the Ministry of Economy, plus a curated set of headline indicators (inflation, core inflation, unemployment, GDP, monthly activity, wages, population, the official dollar, reserves, poverty line, UVA) with monthly and year-on-year changes computed from the official values. Open data: search the datasets of datos.gob.ar, open any dataset with its licence and files, and preview the first rows of a CSV or JSON file without downloading it. Procurement: search contract awards and calls for tender from COMPR.AR, the national e-procurement system for goods and services, open one procedure with every awarded document, and total spending per supplier or buyer. Procurement open data is published only for 2016-2020; the connector says so and points to the live portals for current tenders. Public data under CC BY 4.0, fetched live on every call; no credentials needed.

Requirements

FAQ

Where does the data come from?

From the Argentine government's own open data services: the Series de Tiempo API (apis.datos.gob.ar), which republishes series from INDEC, the BCRA and the Ministry of Economy; the national open data portal datos.gob.ar; and the COMPR.AR procurement files published there by the Oficina Nacional de Contrataciones. Each answer names its source. The data is licensed CC BY 4.0 (individual datasets on datos.gob.ar show their own licence), which allows commercial reuse with attribution.

Can I find tenders that are open right now?

Not from open data. The national procurement files on datos.gob.ar cover 2016 to 2020 and have not been updated since 2021, and no current national tender feed or API is published. The connector searches the historical awards and calls (useful for market research, supplier histories and pricing) and, when you ask for open tenders, tells you to search COMPR.AR (comprar.gob.ar) or CONTRAT.AR (contratar.gob.ar) directly.

Is there a house price index?

Argentina publishes no official national house price index. The connector offers the closest official series: the CPI component for housing, water, electricity and fuels, and the UVA unit that indexes mortgages and many rents. Provincial price indices can be found with the series search.

Can I ask in English?

Yes. The catalogues are in Spanish, so common English terms (inflation, unemployment, wages, exchange rate, exports, IT, medical, fuel...) are translated before searching. Spanish queries work directly.

How large a file can it preview?

CSV files of any size: the connector streams the file and stops as soon as it has the rows you asked for, reading at most 8 MB. JSON files have to be read whole, so they are previewed up to 6 MB. Spreadsheets, ZIP and PDF files cannot be previewed; you get the download link instead.

Is anything stored?

No. Every call queries the government services live; nothing is logged, cached or stored by the connector.
