FAQ

Where does the data come from?

From official services: the European Commission's EORI validation service (EOS), Taxes in Europe Database (TEDB), Access2Markets tariff data (TARIC) and EU Vocabularies Combined Nomenclature, plus HMRC's open EORI checker for GB numbers. The connector is an independent client; Commission data is reused under Decision 2011/833/EU.

Why is the trader name missing for a valid EORI?

Traders choose whether their name and address are published. Without that consent the services only confirm validity.

Are the duty rates legally binding?

No. They come from the Commission's TARIC data via Access2Markets and are a reliable guide, but always confirm in the TARIC consultation or with a customs broker before declaring. Preferential rates need proof of origin.

Does it include section and chapter notes?

It returns the official scope note, supplementary unit and hierarchy for each CN code. The legal section and chapter notes are not available per query; the result links the TARIC consultation page.
