Ireland Public Data

Official Irish data in Claude: CSO statistics, the data.gov.ie portal and public contracts from eTenders and TED.

Three official Irish sources in one connector. Statistics from the Central Statistics Office (CSO PxStat): inflation, unemployment, the Live Register, GDP and GNI*, population, earnings, house prices, RTB rents, new dwelling completions and any of about 10,000 tables, filtered by region, sex, age or sector. The national open data portal data.gov.ie: search 20,000 datasets from departments, councils and agencies and preview CSV or JSON files without downloading them. Public procurement: awarded contracts, open tenders and spend summaries by buyer or supplier from the Office of Government Procurement's eTenders open data (every award since 2013, including below EU thresholds) and live EU-threshold notices from TED. Queries work in English or Irish. Public data, no credentials needed.

Requirements

FAQ

Where does the data come from?

Statistics come from the CSO PxStat API (ws.cso.ie), datasets from the data.gov.ie CKAN API, contract awards and tenders from the Office of Government Procurement's eTenders open data file published on data.gov.ie, and live EU-threshold notices from the TED API of the EU Publications Office. CSO, data.gov.ie and eTenders data are licensed CC BY 4.0; TED data may be reused freely under the EU reuse policy. The connector is an independent client, not affiliated with these bodies.

How fresh is the procurement data?

eTenders has no public API; the OGP publishes a complete file of competitions and awards roughly monthly (each answer states the file date and the newest record). TED is searched live but only lists notices above EU thresholds. For open tenders the connector merges both, so the newest below-threshold calls may only be on etenders.gov.ie.

Can I search by a supplier's tax or company number?

Only on TED notices (source 'ted'), which publish winner identifiers. The eTenders open data names suppliers but does not publish their tax or CRO numbers, so search those by name.

Why are some framework values so large?

Buyers enter the framework ceiling as the awarded value and repeat it for every supplier on a multi-supplier framework. Summaries count such an award once in the total and show the shared ceiling separately per supplier.

Is anything stored?

No. Every call goes to the source, large files are streamed and stopped as soon as the answer is complete, and nothing is cached or written between calls.
