How to connect

Add it to Claude

Create a OpenJack account and copy your connection key from your account.

In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector and paste https://italy-public-data.openjack.dev/mcp.

Click Connect. On the connect page enter your connection key and your Dati aperti italiani credentials. They are checked live and stored encrypted.

FAQ

Where do the data come from?

Statistics from ISTAT's official SDMX web service (CC BY 4.0), datasets from the national catalogue dati.gov.it run by AgID (each dataset has its own licence, shown in the results), and procurement notices from ANAC's legal-publicity platform (Pubblicità a valore legale), where Italian public buyers must publish calls for tender and awards. The connector is an independent client.

How far back does the procurement data go?

ANAC's legal-publicity platform holds notices from 2023-2024 onwards, when digital publication became mandatory. Older contracts are only in ANAC's bulk open data files; above-threshold notices are also on TED.

Why are some ISTAT answers slow?

ISTAT's service is slow for catalogue searches (30-60 seconds) and allows only a few queries per minute, so each tool makes at most three requests. Curated indicators and series with filters usually answer in a few seconds.

Can it read whole files from dati.gov.it?

It previews: CSV files are streamed and reading stops after the rows you ask for; JSON files up to 10 MB are parsed. Nothing is stored. For full files, use the download link it returns.

Can I search by company tax number?

Yes. Supplier and buyer filters accept the partita IVA or codice fiscale as well as names, and a CIG returns every notice for that tender.
