Poland Public Data

Official Polish statistics, the national open data portal and public contracts and tenders in Claude.

One connector for Poland's main public data. Statistics Poland (GUS): curated headline indicators — inflation, registered unemployment, real GDP growth, average wages, residential property prices, retail sales, industrial production, consumer confidence, exports, population — plus search across the GUS indicator list and the Local Data Bank (BDL), with series down to voivodeship, powiat and gmina level. dane.gov.pl: search the national open data portal, read a dataset's licence and resources, and preview the first rows of CSV/JSON files (spreadsheets through the portal's CSV copy) without downloading them. e-Zamówienia: search awarded contracts by buyer, supplier name or NIP, CPV code, dates and contract value, find open calls for tenders, read one notice with offers and winners per part, and rank a buyer's top suppliers or a supplier's buyers. Queries work in Polish and English. No credentials needed; a free GUS BDL key is optional.

Requirements

FAQ

Where does the data come from?

Three official public APIs, called live on every request: Statistics Poland (GUS) — the SDP indicator API, the DBW domain database (property prices) and the Local Data Bank (BDL); dane.gov.pl, the national open data portal run by the Ministry of Digital Affairs; and the notice board of e-Zamówienia, the national e-procurement platform of the Public Procurement Office (UZP), which publishes the Biuletyn Zamówień Publicznych (BZP). The connector is an independent client with no affiliation to these institutions.

Can I use the data commercially?

GUS allows free re-use, including commercial, with attribution to Statistics Poland. dane.gov.pl datasets carry their own licence (mostly CC0 1.0 or CC BY 4.0; some add conditions) — the connector shows it for every dataset. BZP notices are public information that UZP also publishes as open data under CC0 1.0.

Which procurement notices are covered?

The BZP covers national procedures below the EU thresholds since 2021 (hundreds of thousands of notices). Larger procedures above the EU thresholds are published in the EU's TED instead — use a TED connector for those. Contract values come from each notice (net values, sum over parts); a buyer can leave a value out, and the connector counts those separately.

Do I need a GUS key?

No. All three GUS APIs are keyless, with limits per IP address (anonymous: 5 requests per second, 100 per 15 minutes and 1,000 per 12 hours on SDP/DBW; the Local Data Bank is stricter). Because the hosted connector shares IP addresses, the Local Data Bank can run out of anonymous quota: a free BDL key from api.stat.gov.pl gives 5× the limits. Headline indicators do not use BDL.

How fresh are the figures?

Every call reads the source directly; nothing is cached. GUS publishes monthly indicators about three to five weeks after the month ends and quarterly GDP and property prices about two to three months after the quarter; the connector shows the period of every value and marks preliminary figures. Procurement notices appear on the BZP the day they are published.

Can I preview a large file?

Previews stream only the beginning of a file and stop as soon as the requested rows arrived, reading at most 3 MB; nothing is stored. JSON files must be under 3 MB because they are parsed whole. Spreadsheets are previewed through the CSV copy dane.gov.pl makes; APIs, PDFs and archives are not previewed — the connector gives the download link instead.
